Foresight Sports and Bushnell Golf Announce Product Line Updates
Foresights Sports revamps GC3/Launch Pro lineup to offer more advanced insights to a wider range of golfers, including turnkey and subscription options—plus club recommendation technology you've never seen before!
Foresight Sports and Bushnell Golf are significantly changing their personal golf launch monitor offerings, including with the launch of the GC3S and the indoor-focused LPi.
The changes, Foresight said, aim to provide golfers with more tailored options while incorporating their new LINK-Enabled Technology, a first-ever feature designed to integrate launch monitor data with rangefinders for personalized on-course insights. Every Foresight and Bushnell golf launch monitor will be compatible with the LINK-Enabled Technology innovation.
Product Line Updates: Subscriptions, Indoor-Only Focus, and More Data + Rangefinders Included!
Foresight GC3: A Complete Package
The refreshed Foresight GC3 now includes both ball and club data capabilities and comes with the Bushnell Pro X3 LINK laser rangefinder plus a sling bag, a two-year warranty and one year of access to GSPro. Users have everything they need to pair their golf launch monitor data with their rangefinder to get club recommendations based on their personalized numbers and the on-site environmental conditions.
Retailing at $6,999, this package simplifies setup by including FSX simulator software and performance analysis tools without requiring a subscription. It offers a comprehensive, high-performing solution.
Note: There will not be a ball-data-only GC3 option. It’s now one SKU with one price.
The New GC3S: Foresight’s First Subscription Model
The GC3S, priced at $3,799, flips Foresight’s traditional pricing script by offering a subscription in exchange for a lower initial purchase price. Designed for the budget-conscious shopper, it includes a free first-year subscription followed by a $499 annual fee, providing access to ball and club data (no ball-data-only option) plus the FSX suite of software.
The new GC3S bundles the launch monitor with a Bushnell Pro X3 LINK rangefinder, which is the same laser as the previous Pro X3 but now re-badged. With the rangefinder’s Bluetooth connectivity, users will be able to pair their rangefinders with the updated Bushnell Golf app to get the LINK-Enabled Technology which then feeds their launch monitor data information to their rangefinder readouts. New GC3S owners will also get one year of free access to GSPro.
Bushnell LPi: Indoor-Only Affordability
Replacing the Launch Pro, Bushnell’s new LPi takes away the screen and the battery, adds all the ball and club data, and offers an indoor-only golf launch monitor for $2,799. This model also features a $499 annual subscription after the first year to unlock FSX software and golf simulator capabilities. And once again, there is only the ball-and-club data option.
Understanding LINK-Enabled Technology and How It Works
Foresight Sports and Bushnell Golf, partner companies, are pairing their industry-leading strengths in a way we haven’t seen before now. Their LINK-Enabled Technology innovation provides personalized club recommendations and “Play As” distances, introducing tour-caliber course management strategies to golfers of all skill levels.
It’s certainly not the first solution for personalized yardages and club recommendations. But it is the first that gives us launch monitor data and all the real-time elements like slope and weather conditions.
LINK-Enabled Technology begins through the updated Foresight Sports app with the MyBag assessment, where golfers hit at least three shots with each club to generate personalized data. This information syncs with the updated Bushnell Golf app and Bluetooth-enabled Bushnell rangefinders, which include the Pro X3, Pro X3 LINK, and Pro X3+.
The combination gives golfers club recommendations and environmental adjustments directly through the rangefinder display. For every shot, LINK-Enabled Technology provides a conservative and aggressive club suggestion and gives you all the information you need to make the most informed decision.
Users also can view personalized club accuracy patterns overlaid on maps of golf holes within the Bushnell Golf app. This feature is available anytime, anywhere, so that golfers visiting new courses or wanting to visualize their shots pre-round can do so.
Now-Out-of-Print GC3 and Launch Pro Models Also Compatible With LINK-Enabled Technology
The new Foresight/Bushnell personal golf launch monitor line is going to provide options for a variety of golfers. But not everyone is going to prefer the updates. For example, some golfers may only want to pay for ball data.
You’ve also got to consider that the outgoing GC3 and Launch Pro are also compatible with LINK-Enabled Technology, the catch being that you’d have to purchase or already own a Bushnell Pro X3 or Pro X3+ laser.
But remember something. These Foresight Sports-made golf launch monitors are more durable than anything in the industry. They last seemingly forever! So if you prefer the offer of the OG models, grab from the limited stock at PlayBetter.com. That’s probably a don’t-wait-too-long proposition.
Improved Accessibility
With these announcements, Foresight and Bushnell aim to democratize golf data, making advanced insights available to a wider range of players.
“Subscriptions” is often a dirty word in the golf launch monitor space. Consumers are largely fed up with them. But by offering both turnkey and subscription choices, these brands are improving the range of options.
The one exception would be with the elimination of the ball-data-only options. But most users want club data. Without it, you have a very limited view into what’s happening in a golf swing. So simplifying things and just making all the data the standard is likely the right direction to go.
And for those who just want the ball data, savvy shoppers will still be able to find the older-model GC3 and Launch Pro that are likely to hold up to many more years of use.
In other words, a lot of good news to start the new year in the golf launch monitor space.
