New Times Square driving range on SkyTrak software

Breaking News: Exciting Software Upgrades Make the SkyTrak+ Golf Simulator Even More Fun!

New, game-improving driving range challenges, new subscription packages with in-app courses (there's some biggies in there!) and more! Our golf guy Marc explains the new SkyTrak software packages, upgrades, and pricing below!

One area where SkyTrak has had a leg up on the competition is with its software. Their devices, including their flagship SkyTrak+ golf launch monitor, shine brightest when users tap into the full breadth of experiences and game-improvement opportunities available in the SkyTrak app.

Well now, the SkyTrak software advantage is even greater! The company just announced major improvements to their platform that include 30 in-app golf simulator courses and five new simulated driving range experiences, each tailored to improve a specific part of your game.

The SkyTrak+ was already one of the most popular golf launch monitors and simulators for home use. Now, it just got a lot better!

Let’s walk through all that’s new, including the updated SkyTrak+ price tier options.

Introducing SkyTrak Course Play: 30 In-App Simulator Golf Courses, Including Pebble Beach!

The SkyTrak+ already excelled in third-party sim software compatibility. It was a selling point as the device was compatible with TruGolf E6 Connect, the Golf Club 2019, WGT by TopGolf, Creative Golf, Fitness Golf, and Pro Tee Play. And it still is.

But what’s been missing is SkyTrak’s own proprietary sim golf experience. Until now, they haven’t been able to compete with the likes of Foresight Sports, a company with its own golf simulator software that blends seamlessly into the user experience with their products like the Foresight GC3.

Well, now, not only do SkyTrak+ users have the option to play SkyTrak simulator golf without having to leave the app or pay any third-party fees, but the new SkyTrak Course Play suite features some big-time sim courses, including Pebble Beach!

Check out this roster of in-app Course Play simulator courses:

  • Pebble Beach Golf Links
  • Le Golf National
  • Quail Hollow Club
  • Innisbrook GC Copperhead
  • Hudson National
  • Primland Highland Course
  • Sebonack Golf Club
  • Sweetens Cove Golf club
  • Tacoma Golf & Country Club
  • Portland Golf Club
  • Devil’s Island
  • Hawktree Golf Club
  • Paris International G.C.
  • Lake Geneva Country Club
  • Manasquan River Golf Club
  • Leatherstocking Golf Club
  • Donalda Club
  • Oswego Lake CC
  • Shelter Harbor
  • Lago Mar Country Club
  • Kissing Tree G.C.
  • Oakwood CC
  • Port Huron G.C.
  • Pine Brook C.C.
  • Keya Golf Club
  • The Lost Nine

This is huge for SkyTrak+ users because it means you don’t have to access third-party software and maintain a separate account for your golf simulator fun.

But, of course, there is some cost associated with the new Course Play feature. Read on for more information about the various SkyTrak+ purchase options.

5 New Compelling SkyTrak+ Driving Range Experiences

Beyond the Course Play addition, SkyTrak rolled out five new and very interesting simulator driving ranges. What makes these new additions cool is that they each offer something more than just launching balls out into a field.

As SkyTrak is owned by GOLFTEC, the company has access to 29 years of swing data and professional insights. They’ve used that information and knowledge to design ranges that address specific golfer pain points, giving golfers willing to put in the time the opportunity to see and chart real progress.

The Wall

If you’re struggling with pulling the ball to the left (for a right-handed golfer), here’s a range that introduces a brick wall to correct that mistake. Learn to start your ball straight or right of center, or else… ya hit the wall!

Accuracy Island

The new Accuracy Island driving range challenge on SkyTrak+ software

In this range, there’s a floating fairway that’s only 30 yards wide. The idea here is to control your ball flight well enough to keep it dry. Practicing with consequences can really accelerate your learning and help you focus on correcting swing flaws.

Right to Left Command Range

Learn to hit an under-control draw. In this range, there’s a tree immediately in front of you, and there’s water running down the left side of the range. So you’ve got to be able to start the ball to the right, curve it to the left just enough to land in the fairway without over-cooking it and curving it all the way into the water.

Left to Right Command Range

Here’s your chance to work on controlling your fade. Just like with the Right to Left Command Range, in this one, there’s a tree in front of you but the water is on the right side of the range. Again, you’ve got to work the ball around the tree but not fade it so much that it runs into the water.

City Range

This is a fun range that lets you hit shots in between tall city buildings. Again, an opportunity to dial in your accuracy in a fun and different setting.

These new ranges are a great addition to the SkyTrak+. Keeping practice fresh and interesting is an important component to keeping a device like this fun to use. The more enjoyable and varied your golf simulator practice can be, the more likely you are to want to keep doing it.

But, just like with the new Course Play feature, unlocking these driving ranges does require certain SkyTrak+ subscriptions. Let’s look at your purchase options.

New SkyTrak+ Membership Plans

Nobody likes subscriptions, but they are a reality for many golf simulator users. The good news with the SkyTrak+ is you’ve got options.

Basic - FREE

Good news! You don’t have to pay for a subscription to enjoy your SkyTrak+ (but you’re probably going to want to). Their Basic package gives you their simple driving range. You do get your shot data history as well. So, if all you want to do is use your SkyTrak+ to hit the regular driving range, fire away for free!

SkyTrak Essential - $129.95/year

This is where the good stuff starts. It costs $129.95 a year, but the Essential package, which replaces the old SkyTrak+ Game Improvement package, gives you the new driving range experiences, Skills Challenge, and Bag Mapping. You get a free 30-day trial of the Essential plan when you buy a SkyTrak+.

SkyTrak Course Play - $349.95/year

Remember all those sweet new simulator golf courses we were talking about, including Pebble Beach and a bunch of other biggies? Well, they are going to cost you $349.95 a year. However, that price does include the SkyTrak Essential plan, meaning you’ll get all of the other enhancements, including the new driving ranges and other game-improvement features.

E6 + WGT Software Pack - $249.95/year

This option also includes the Essential package. Plus you get 15 simulator courses and eight challenges from TruGolf E6 as well as 15 courses from WGT by TopGolf (iOS only). The cost is $249.95 per year.

Recommended System Requirements for Operating the SkyTrak+ Software

  • Windows 10 (64-bit)

  • 16 GB RAM

  • Intel i5 11500k/AMD Ryzen 3600

  • Nvidia RTX 3060/AMD Radeon 5700

  • 500GB SSD

More SkyTrak+ Fun for Those Who Want It

The SkyTrak+ already had our vote for most fun home golf simulator. It’s such an intuitive, enjoyable, engaging software experience. And these enhancements totally reinforce and expand upon that sentiment.

To go along with the improvements, SkyTrak revamped the look of their app menu. It’s now even simpler to go straight to the portion of the software that interests you that day, whether you want to hit the links or fire up a driving range or challenge experience to sharpen your skills.
