SkyTrak+ System Requirements: What Do I Need To Run This Golf Launch Monitor?

Know before you buy: what do you need to operate the SkyTrak+? Marc gives you an easy read thorough all the details on one of the most entertaining, game-improving launch monitors for your home golf simulator!

Probably more than any other golf launch monitor of the past few years, the SkyTrak+ has landed as an exceptionally popular golf simulator option for indoor home use.

SkyTrak just nailed it with the software and app experience, making playing simulator golf, or practicing on virtual ranges, or competing with friends in person or online just so fun and engaging. And in June of 2024, they rolled out their own Course Play golf simulator software that rivals the best sim software available with any device.

You’re even seeing the SkyTrak+ as the leading home golf simulator on more and more national advertisements. Everyone, it seems, wants in on the action.

And maybe you do too. Why wouldn’t you?

But do you have what you need to operate a SkyTrak+? Remember, a golf launch monitor like this one does require connection with an app and a computer to access any of its awesome features.

System requirements can be an intimidating and easily misunderstood topic for a lot of would-be golf simulator users. But we’re gonna make this pain free. Read on for our super-simple explanation of everything you need to run a SkyTrak+.

What Are the SkyTrak Plus System Requirements?

While the SkyTrak+ most certainly is portable and is easy to set up, it’s not one of those on-the-go golf launch monitors that you can operate without connecting to an app.

Instead, to use a SkyTrak+, even just to get simple data numbers, you’ll need a computer or mobile device.

For iOs users, the SkyTrak+ offers a bit of a good-news, bad-news scenario. The good news is that this device, for basic use and potentially with some third-party sim software providers, is relatively system agnostic and is compatible with iOS and PC.

The bad news is that SkyTrak+’s new proprietary in-app software is, at least for now, PC only.

So, we’ll list a couple different system requirement options for using the SkyTrak+. If you just want to collect shot data and use SkyTrak’s more basic software, there is one set of requirements. Then there’s another set of specs to run the new SkyTrak+ Course Play golf simulator software.

Recommended SyStem Requirements for Running SkyTrak+ Course Play Golf Simulator Software

In June 2024, SkyTrak+ rolled out their own proprietary golf simulator software. It includes 30 in-app golf simulator courses and five new simulated driving range experiences, each tailored to improve a specific part of your game, a Skills Challenge, Bag Mapping, and more. It’s an incredible improvement on what was already an awesome SkyTrak+ platform. But, to operate it, there are specific PC-only system requirements.

Once again, we’ll organize by the minimum requirements and the ones recommended for the best and most consistent results.

Minimum Specs:

  • Windows 10 (64bit)
  • 8GB RAM
  • Intel i3 10100F/AMD Ryzen 2600
  • NVidia GTX 1650/AMD Radeon 580
  • 128GB SSD

Recommended Specs:

  • Windows 10 (64bit)
  • 16GB RAM
  • Intel i5 11500k/AMD Ryzen
  • 3600NVidia RTX 3060/AMD Radeon 5700
  • 500GB SSD

The SkyTrak Plus is also compatible with several third-party simulator software options. However, each of those will have their own system requirements, which must be studied separately.

What Do I Need To Run a SkyTrak Plus Golf Launch Monitor?

As noted, one thing that makes the SkyTrak+ a great golf launch monitor is that it is an option for both iOS and PC owners. However, the limitation of the new golf simulator Course Play software being PC-only will be a bummer to about half the crowd.

All of that said, the most likely use case for a SkyTrak+ is in an indoor golf simulator studio. And in that case, you’ll probably choose to buy a computer dedicated just to your golf simulator use. Which means, of course, that you could go ahead and follow the recommended specs of whatever software package you decided was best for your situation.

If you follow these SkyTrak+ system requirements, you’re in for a lot of fun no matter which way you play it.
